Sally began to have significant results in surfing at the age of 14, she became the youngest surfer to win an ASP Pro Junior (under 21's) event.
In 2009, Sally finished fifth on the World Surfing Tour in her rookie year; In 2010 Sally was runner up in three ASP tour events, she ended up finishing the year being runner up to Stephanie Glimore. In both 2011 & 2012 Sally won the Ripcurl Bells Beach Pro.
